Bereavement Support Service
Although a normal and essential process, grieving the loss of someone you love is very difficult to come to terms with alone. It helps to talk things over with someone who will listen and offer guidance to support you. AVCM, along with the Friends of Fordingbridge Surgery and Cornerways Medical Centre, support a team of Bereavement Counsellors, covering the SP6 and BH24 areas, trained to help you through the grieving process.
What Support is Available?
We work together with healthcare professionals, teachers, community leaders and family support workers throughout the local community. Our services for bereaved people are completely confidential and given free of charge. The Bereavement Service offers One-to-One Support. You will meet with one of our trained counsellors to identify what specific support would be best for you. If you find meeting people daunting we offer telephone or video call conversations.Ongoing support can also be helpful through the Friendship Group.
If you are alone in your grief and in need of support, please contact us through your GP or directly by emailing AVCMbereavement@gmail.comor calling 0755 755 5141 between 8.30am-5.30pm.
This service is also supported by the Avon Valley Primary Care Network and all the churches in the Avon Valley Partnership.
Donations
Although the bereavement service is free, voluntary donations to support running costs are very welcome (details via your bereavement counsellor).
