Avon Valley Community Matters

Come and get messy with us during the holidays!

Holiday Activities

Following on from the previous years’ success, this Summer 2025 we offered our FREE Picnics Together programme for families of all ages and abilities - all FREE as part of Avon Valley Community Matters outreach work to support families and their carers in Fordingbridge and its surrounding villages. So far, in the past 3 years we entertained and fed more than 500 people!

We also organise FREE half term activities. During each session we organise crafts, games, stories, songs and also provide a hot meal and pudding. A great way to meet friends and make some new ones as well as keeping the kids occupied during the holidays. All ages welcome!

This October half term we are organising another Celebration of Light on Wednesday 29 at St Mary’s Church (& Church Hall) in Fordingbridge - come and make lanterns as well as new friends. Following on from this we have planned another FREE Lantern Workshop from 3-5pm on 28 November at the Fordingbridge Scout Hut, followed by Storytelling at 5.30pm in the Salvation Army Garden, for the Lantern Procession on 28 November at the Fordingbridge Christmas Lights evening - an amazing spectacle - for the third year in a row.

Don’t miss our Building Together sessions too! On Saturday afternoons at St Mary’s Church Hall, stay and play with Lego, construction toys and more.
